About WeatherFriend
Welcome to WeatherFriend.com!
I am a lifelong learner with a deep fascination for science that began in third grade when I was introduced to the planets. Instantly hooked, I delved into astronomy, absorbing all the information I could find from library books. As I grew, my interests expanded to include other areas of science, particularly storms.
In my youth, I would sit by the window, mesmerized by lightning streaking across the sky, but tornadoes filled me with fear, especially during Hurricane Alicia when I worried I wouldn't hear one approaching. Determined to conquer this fear, I embarked on a journey of education. I devoured every book on storms, closely observed weather reports, and analyzed each storm I encountered.
In 1997, during a family trip, my father asked for my thoughts on an approaching storm. To my surprise, my predictions were spot-on. The following year, I captured the First Colony Twister on camera, sparking a lifelong passion for storm photography.
With over 20 years of experience as a teacher, professional photographer, and web designer, I've encountered many fascinating experiences that I eagerly share with fellow photographers and students alike. Join me on WeatherFriend.com as we explore the awe-inspiring world of weather and photography together!
I hope you enjoy your visit and find inspiration in the wonders of science and nature.
