The following pictures were taken at Estes Park, Colorado, on June 2, 1999. Estes Park has an elevation of 7, 000 or so and is just a few minutes from The Rocky Mountain National Park. I was quite surprised to see this funnel cloud that high up. This funnel cloud stretched toward the ground several times, but never touched down. Within a few minutes the funnel cloud lost its strength.

Sometime in the Summer of 1999, I managed to catch this funnel on my videocam. This funnel cloud past right over my house. It was harmless though and only lasted a minute or two.

On August 24, 1999 an awesome storm came through Houston. With this storm came this gust front. Some practicing football kids were out in the field when it came up and when they saw it they ran for cover screaming. It's a good thing they did because it spun off a gustanado briefly.
